Hi Everyone I have been using KnoppMyth for a few months to record using a jetway dvb-t card, currently using R22. I tried to use a mini itx system to use play back video on my tv but the noise level was too high. I bought a german cable box (Dbox2) to play back the video recordings i had already made it plays all the .nuv files fine without having to recode or anything ![]() ![]() I have shared the 'tv' directory using samba and just point the cable boxes media player at the files and they play. My question is; is there any way to use two filenames to point to the same file without copying the file. For example 1119_2005...... .nuv is my recording but i want it to show up on my dboxes file viewer as BBC1_Eastenders_22_Nov_2005.ts or something similar. i can write a simple access progamme to make a copy on mythbox but this seems a bit excessive ! |

What you are after are symlinks. ln -s linkname originalfile (i think) There is already a script to automate it, do a search for "pretty" |

Thanks for that Pretty did the job, my windows box see's the new filename and symlinks but the dbox dosnt ![]() back to the drawing board may try a nfs share instead of a samba Thanks |
