Having a really wierd issue with my frontend machine, I use it as a fileserver & when putting some crimbo pics on it tonight I get a disk full message..

df -h shows the following

Code:
Filesystem            Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1             2.6G  1.9G  578M  77% /
/dev/hda3             4.1G   24K  4.1G   1% /cache
/dev/hda4              30G  7.4G   23G  25% /myth

My pics are stored in a folder named photos in the /myth partition which as you can see is only 25% full.

Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Spot on. df -i reads :

Code:
Filesystem            Inodes   IUsed   IFree IUse% Mounted on
/dev/hda1             273504   98133  175371   36% /
/dev/hda3               1056      12    1044    2% /cache
/dev/hda4               7680    7680       0  100% /myth

Now, I'll go do the proper thing and read up on inodes. Thanks cesman, helpful as always! :)

I'll post any interesting findings back here, nothing worse than finding pages and pages of the same problem and no solution when you're googling ;)

I try... You must have a ton of small files... I think there is an old post on here, someone had the same issue. Basically, the person formatted /dev/hda4 to follow for more inodes and or smaller files sizes.
