well the remote configs are very easy to backup and restore to a new install, it's just two config files lircrc and lircd.conf in my estimation the biggest loss is the recordedprograms database, but the good news is that once mythtv 0.19 is released there will be a knoppmyth version released that should upgrade from R5A22.

The word from Cecil, which he probably just got tired of repeating after the first half dozen times, is that sometime after MythTV 0.19 is released there will be a KnoppMyth release which can be used to upgrade from R5A22. So until you see that first event occur, and you see the change notes for the subsequent KnoppMyth release say something like "upgraded to 0.19" it isn't time to ask "Are we there yet?" again.

You're now in charge of telling the next half dozen people who can't be bothered to read the announcements through...

:x Don't you think I know this? Frankly the version of MythTV in R5A22 is better than 0.18.x.

Im with cesman. Installing R5A30 would be a step backwards for R5A22 users. Just be patient.

Hi ahronzombi,

I probably should keep my comments at home however.....

If you are having issues or problems with R5A22, then most of the folks here will bend over backwards to assist you to get it up and running.

I still run R5A16 on my main unit. It is rock solid, does everything I ask it to do except print. Would I benefit by upgrading? Not sure how but when cesman releases his version that supports the .19 mythtv, I'll consider it.

In between time, enjoy the fruits of the work and be thankful there are so many talented people willing to share their skills to create this great package. KnoppMyth simply rocks!

Mike

Yeah, if it ain't broke don't fix it ! :)

I have A16 running as backend, it's like a rock...

I have A22 on another hard drive, awaiting the .19 Myth version.
That one 'should be glorious'.... :)

You could always record some shows to watch while you're waiting for the new version.
