Post subject:  Install KnoppMyth on RAID disks

Hi, I am trying to install KnoppMyth on my computer, but when the install process is about to start i get: /usr/local/bin/KnoppMyth-auto: line 608: / 1000000: syntax error: operand expected (error token is "/ 1000000")

My motherboard has an onboard MBFastTrak133 RAID controller, and I have connected 2 IDE disks in RAID0, on which I want to install KnoppMyth.

Is it possible to do that at all? If so, what do I have to do, to make it work??

Ps. It looks like my 2 disks are recogniced as /dev/hde and /dev/hdg

I have the same controller on my mainboard and was not able to use it as intended as it is a software raid controller. What this means is that it requires a drive to do what it is intended, which is not included with linux.

What I would suggest to you is to install on one of the disks (yes they are detected separately) and then use LVM to add the other drive. Check over at the wiki for details on the setting up LVM.

I appreciate that this will not have the same speed benefits as RAID0 but to be honest I don't beleive that this speed is required for a PVR.
