Thanks to the DVB forum, I got HDTV working! YES! Problem is, no sound. I had SPDIF working when I was running FC3 and MythTV .15. Since I recently did a baremetal install and converted to Knoppmyth, I'm back to noob status. Getting SPDIF was not easy nor intuitive even using Jarod's doco. It seems after having done searched on the term "SPDIF" on this board, not much has changed. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Sound is pretty much the last thing on my list before I'm done. Currently running R5B7 with an external SB card running digital. Thanks in advance. |

External SB _card_ ? You mean a box of some sort. USB based? My external USB to SPDIF converter (Creative Labs MP3+) works out of the box. Did you check the wiki? http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... AudioHowTo Someone recently updated this page with some tips on how to configure MythTV for digital audio. |

I somewhat figure it out. I have an internal SB Audigy card. It turns out it doesn't play/install well with the latest kernel so it required I install the latest ALSA drivers. With some experimentation, I finally got alsamixer working and adjusted properly. The settings don't *stick* on reboot, but for now, I'm just happy to have HDTV w/digital sound. |
