| Post subject: | Restarting mythbackend automatically if it crashes? |
Is it possible to detect a mythbackend crash or hang, and then to have the system automatically restart it? I encountered a few scheduling problems this weekend that were resolved with a simple SSH, and mythbackend & command. Thanks in advance! |

Yes, it is possible and it memory serves there is script floating around somewhere (check the MythTV archives)... However, I'd greatly caution against using a script that does this automagically. If the backend dies, it mostly died for a reason. One should investigate the log to why out why. |
