Hi,

There seem to be a few posts about bad downloads of the iso images. I am downloading the iso image now over a modem, and more often than not I find that the downloaded iso file contains some corruption. However, I am able to repair it using rsync (see http://samba.anu.edu.au/rsync/ ) if I can find the image on an rsync server. The repair process takes about 5 min over a 56k modem.

Could you please let me know if any of your download servers is running rsync? Alternatively, coud the iso be placed onto a major service which provides rsync service? This is necessary for me to be able to obtain a good iso file.

not sure about the rsync, but the iso is also usually available via bittorrent and that does automatic corrections to corrupted sections.

I've not used bittorrent before, but I'll have to check it out. However, I don't expect that it will allow me to correct stuff I've already downloaded...

<sigh> time to start downloading again...

actually bittorret will. you just fireup the bittorret link and point it to the same place to download, and it will run a hash on the file and fix it.

What does a request for an rynce mirror have to do with installing KnoppMyth?! I realize you need to get it to install it, but you can get it and never install it. Several folks that normally visit the forum also live in Australia, perhaps you can PM then and if you live close to one another, you can meet over lunch and they'll bring you a copy of KnoppMyth.
