I want to remap some of the keys on my pvr-250 gray remote. For example, IN PLAYBACK MODE (watch captured recording), "skip forward and backwards" are currently set to use two different sets of keys, namely, vol+/vol- and ff/rev. I want to remap the vol+/vol- to keyboard U and J which are increase/decrease playback speed.

If I look in the file /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc I see that vol+/vol- are bound to left and right. If I comment those out, I can make them U and J just fine... except I can no longer use them to navigate in the mythtv menus.

My qestion is: where are other bindings for lirc specifically in the 'watch recordings' part of mythtv stores? Obviously, there are somewhere since the keys have different functionality in the different modes of mythtv, namely navigating around the menus, and in the playback mode.

Have you looked at keys.txt?

there are different key settings for different components in myth. The easiest way to view and change them are in mythweb. Choose 'Settings' at the top, then 'Key Bindings'

I have change the key bindings so now the buttons labled 'vol +/-' on the remote, actually adjust the volume, but all navigate left/right in the program guide and menus.

I think between the two other posts this has been covered, but I just want to clarify there is only one binding between any button on the remote and one keypress. Anytime you hit a button on the remote it will always represent the same key on the keyboard. The issue is that in MythTV the one key does many different things depending on where you are in the program.
