ok, knoppmyth runs really fine, tv, dvd with xine, music

but i cant play videos, i have added it, they are shown in the videomanager, but wehen i hit play inothing happens

my command: /usr/local/bin/mplayer -fs -zoom -quiet -vo xv %s

but when i manually type as root: /usr/local/bin/mplayer -fs -zoom -quiet -vo xv filename
it plays wonderful, but as user it fails with "....../codecs.conf: No such file...."
then i copied the codecs.conf from etc/mplayer to the directories, no luck


next: how can i add a button on the frontend to play videos, like avis from cd? I had on a previous installation such a button, but i cant remember the command

my mythfilldatabase did not run automatically, do i need a cronjob or something?

the mplayer error you stated is not the problem, that always happens, because mplayer looks user first tells you not found then looks global, so you are looking for some other error.

if it is the user that has a problem look at permissions on the video folder.

in 0.15.1 you can either run mythfilldatabse from a cron job or automaitcally trough mythtv, but not both.
