I have installed 0.15 today following the howto from a post here. At first it worked fine but then I rebooted my machine and I could no longer start mythfrontend. It was telling me my password was wrong. So I again checked to see if the passwd files were correct and used webmin to change the pass of mythtv mysql user. Neither worked. I've tried reverting back to the old passwd...still nothing. Now I try to start mythfrontend and I get the error... "Access denied for user: 'mythtv@localhost' (Using password: NO)".

Why wouldnt my passwd be used anymore? I can connect to the db using mysqlcc with user mythtv and pass mythtv so the db seems correct. Also, in the instructions I was reading it said to change passwd for user mythtv in mysql...there are however user mythtv@ as well as mythtv@localhost...this may be confusing to some (as it was wiht mysself). Thanks for any info anyone can give me. I'll try work on this further and will post results if I make any progess.

My apologies. I didn't mean ithat comment to be negative in any way. What I could have said was "to anyone that has possibly had this problem here is what I did to fix it".

I fixed it by doing (as root):
mysql mysql
set password for 'mythtv'@'localhost' = PASSWORD('mythtv');

and then it worked after that. why, I don't know, but it did.
