A few months ago did a full build of MythTV .12 on my Mandrake 9.1 box. Since then, I've done a fresh install and wiped out my Myth setup. Building from source was very time consuming so here's where KnoppMyth comes is... I mostly used Myth as a front end to my music and Mame (I have an ATI all in wonder and a Pinnacle PCTV - both of which are UNSUPPORTED for catpuring). My question is: If I pop in the KnoppMyth cd and do the install, will it affect my Mandrake installation at all? What exactly does the 'install' do? Also, since it runs off the cd, can I put it in my wife's Windows machine and run it? Thanks, Brad |

KnoppMyth doesn't completely run off the CD. You can use the CD as a frontend. Assuming your wife's computer can boot from the CD, then yes you can run the frontend from the CD. An auto-install WILL wipe hda1 clean and install Linux and MythTV. Reading the docs and FAQ may answer whatever other questions you have. |
