Does anyone have suggestions how to de-interlace? I don't want to change the content, recompress, etc, I just want to deinterlace the content. Bonus points if you have any idea on how to get real-time "tv watching" deinterlacing working. It looks horrid on my monitor (and before you ask why I don't output to tv instead, my monitor is bigger than my tv and higher resolution to boot). Rob |

there is a deinterlace check box. turn it on, and off and see if you see a difference. if not something is wrong with your install. you may have installed the i586 which doesn't support deinterlace. Also if you search the forums there are some custom filters that can be used for deinterlace which may give better results at the cost of cpu utilization. |

I'm fairly certain I did the i686 install. Likewise, I have the box checked and it's still noticebly interlaced. Ideas? Rob |

You could try the deinterlacing filter. Haven't tried it myself, but it may help. Here's more info on using filters: http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-10.html#ss10.4 |

Thanks for the suggestion. I think the problem is my filters aren't taking effect for some reason. I have a geforce4mx440 outputting at 1920x1080@60 on monitor. When I disable the "deinterlace" checkbox, and put "invert" in as my test playback filter and playback a recording, the image doesn't change at all. I'm guessing my filters aren't working. Any hidea how to fix this ? Rob |

On the third screen of playback settings, there is a checkbox at the very bottom (it's the same screen that talks about the pvr-350 --> which I dont have), which was checked. It's something like XVMC hardware acceleration. After unchecking that, the filters now work !!!! Rob |
