Post subject:  Changing Bootsplash picture in R4V3
Can anyone help me change the bootsplash picture in R4V3? I've edited the file:
/etc/bootsplash/themes/KnoppMyth/config/bootsplash-800x600.cfg
to select the correct file in 800x600 format.
Then I run:
splash -s -f /etc/bootsplash/themes/KnoppMyth/config/bootsplash-800x600.cfg > /boot/initrd.knoppmyth

Finally I run:
lilo -v

I don't get any errors and nothing happens when I reboot...
What am I doing wrong?

That should do it... You should boot up in verbose mose to see what the problem is.

You have to change your initrd setting in lilo to not point /boot/initrd.gz. You have to set: /boot/initrd.knoppmyth
After, run lilo

I don't know why i can't use silentjpeg... only jpeg works (in this way, no progress bar and kernel scroll visible... any idea?)

Someone who is able to use silentboot (and progress bar) instead of verbose boot?
I have a geforce 440mx directly connect on tv (800x600)... and i only able to use verbose boot... :cry:

OK, i have resolved...
I do:
echo "silent" > /proc/bootsplash
modified /etc/default/rcS in line:
VERBOSE=yes
i changed it
VERBOSE=no
and i add to lilo.conf
append="splash=silent"
under initrd image and both before label.
Now all works well...

Sometime i think i talk to noone... i ask some questions and i give me answers! :lol: :roll:
