Hi All,

I have a PVR-250 variant with an iTVC16 chip (rev2) and Microtune 4049 tuner chip.

I can get around the first problem by upgrading to the latest patched ivtv-0.1.10pre2 code.

The second issue is apparently resolved in the latest bttv-0.9.13 however this requres either a patched 2.4.22 or above kernel, or is included in the 2.6.5 kernel.

It sounds easy enough to just get the 2.6.5 kernel - what gotchas are there down that path?

Any other suggestions on how I can best accomodate this tuner in my KnoppMyth system?

Thanks in advance,
JohnO

Hmmm, if KnoppMyth R4V3 has the 2.4.25 kernel and V4l2 already onboard then maybe upgrading to that might be the easiest solution?

Cheers,
JohnO

Thanks Ces, and especially thanks for all the continued effort on KnoppMyth!

I loaded up R4V3, then installed the latest ivtv and Chris Kennedy patches.

This got my PVR-250 MCE PAL (iTVC16, Microtune 4049) running sweet on composite video source.

Next, I build and installed the latest bttv 0.9.15.

Now I can tune broadcast tv channels! Well, sort of. test_ioctl --set-freq=tuner=0,freq=n does tune to frequencies, but:

- It is not really tuner 0, it should be tuner 45. However when I specify tuner 45 I get an error message.

- I do not get any sound on broadcast channels, apart from one channel which has perfect sound!

Anyway, I'm about a mile ahead of where I was last week. Once I get the sound issue sorted I'll post a summary here.

Thanks again,
JohnO
