Post subject: | My story and Knoppmyth.. some strange behavior |
So, dusted off an old Amd-K6 550 Mhz, 256 Sdram added a network card, 6 gig bootdisk and 160 gig for divx / recording. Tvcard is also there and i have soundcard onboard that is support under alsa i saw in dmesg ![]() I Installed Knoppmyth without any problems (Auto install). But when i try to watch divx, i just sellect a movie (love the imdb info stuff) and then press enter.. i say's it is loading it and it then it flips back to the movies browser! I tried to start manual a movie in te Xterminal but no luck, it gave these errors : Quote: root@mythtv:/ # mplayer /var/video/Swordfish.avi MPlayer 0.92-3.3.2 (C) 2000-2003 MPlayer Team CPU: Advanced Micro Devices K6-2 (Family: 5, Stepping: 12) Detected cache-line size is 32 bytes CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 0 3DNow: 1 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 0 SSE2: 0 Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 3DNow 3DNowEx SSE Reading config file /usr/local/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf: No such file or directory Reading config file /root/.mplayer/config Reading /root/.mplayer/codecs.conf: can't open '/root/.mplayer/codecs.conf': No such file or directory Reading /usr/local/etc/mplayer/codecs.conf: can't open '/usr/local/etc/mplayer/codecs.conf': No such file or directory Using built-in default codecs.conf font: can't open file: /root/.mplayer/font/font.desc font: can't open file: /usr/local/share/mplayer/font/font.desc Using Linux hardware RTC timing (1024Hz). It sure sounds like the classic problem to me too. Search the forums and the MythTV FAQ for "Illegal instruction" you should turn up several potential causes. Actually, here is a link to the appropriate FAQ: http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-20.html#ss20.1 Good luck! |

From the docs... Quote: MPlayer: Compiled on an Athlon XP, recompile for different architecture or if you require additional features. Source is in /usr/src/r4v3_src No need to remove, recompile and make install will over write the installed version.
