Hello All,

I'm a new user of KnoppMyth, but an experienced user of MythTV. I have a MythBox that has been working fine with a custom-tuned Ubuntu system, but I have decided to switch over to KnoppMyth since its configured much better by default.

Anyways, I got it all installed and can watch TV but I'm having a really confusing problem. My remote works great in the menu's and during watching recorded TV shows, but won't work at all during Live TV watching. I can't get it to change channels, pause, volume up/down, nothing! I at first thought it was a problem with my lircrc file, but its configured fine. All the relevant mythtv, mplayer, xine, and lircnav sections are filled out corresponding to my lircd.conf. I even tried just commenting out everything except the mythtv section, or mplayer section, or xine section one at a time, with no luck.

The mythtv section should, by default, control everything except movie watching I believe. Can anyone help me? I've been using my Nokia N800 as a web remote when needing to change channels, but MythTV's web remote interface sort of sucks for latency.

Hardware details? Type of TV card(s)? Type of remote(s)? ...

Have you looked at the remote fixes (mostly Hauppauge PVR related) linked from the R5F1 Hints thread?

My hardware details are:

-Via mini-itx mobo/proc
-Hauppauge 150 tuner card
-Homebrew serial IR receiver
-Unknown Insignia remote

This whole exact setup(hardware-wise) worked perfectly before when I was using Ubuntu, but I didnt have nice things like UPNP and the custom menus that Knoppmyth offer.

Also, I have searched the forums before, looking for answers to this problem with no luck. I will read that thread you suggested and see if it helps.

If needed, I can post my config files. But in the meantime, if anyone has any ideas, let me know.
