Post subject:  Fairly regular hangs in EPG

Actually bouncing around the EPG is ok - as long as I don't select a particular listing to enter the recording options menu. Sometimes this hangs while trying to enter the options screen but in general it hangs upon exiting. This is true if I select options to actually record or simply go in and immediately select 'cancel' to go back out.

I would guess that this happens about 8 times out of 10, so it is not entirely consistent but it is certainly regular. Watching TV & changing channels seem fine.

I have tried checking my DB for corrupt tables per this thread as given all my hangs & cold reboots this seemed plausible but alas the scripts report that all is well with my DB. Any other suggestions?

BTW, this is my last issue (that I know of) before I go "into production"... Thanks to everyone for your help so far.

Post subject:  Re-install fixed it

In desperation I re-installed KM from scratch and it seems to have fixed this problem, for now at least.

Post subject:  Alas it was not to last....

This problem seems to have crept its way back into my system :-( Note that I am running a quite vanilla KM system with minimal 'customizations' (in fact, nothing, beyond lirc chgs needed to get my remote to work).

One good thing is that it is much more consistent now, it seems to hang only upon exiting the recording options. I noticed that in the PIP window on the top right it seemed to start rendering the video when it was hanging so as a test I navved to the recording options from the 'Manage Recordings' menu instead of live TV -> EPG -> Recording options. Going the first way eliminates the PIP window. Guess what, it works fine. At least I have a workaround for now. Still, if anyone has any suggestions I would be more than happy to try them.
