Where does myth look to for videos to watch? I have a fairly large DVD collection and having just moved into a new apartment I really do have a place to store them which is easy to access right now. I am constantly going into the closet and searching through the box in order to find a DVD. I have a spare 200gig hard drive that I want to put in my mythbox to use to hold backups of my DVD's. Is it possible with myth to just have it look to this hard drive to access videos? Id really like to have most of my movies accessible in myth so I don't have to go through my boxes of stuff to find a video. |

Yep, Myth can do exactly what you want! The easiest way to do it would be to copy any existing contents of /myth/video onto the spare disk and then mount the disk on /myth/video If you need more detailed instructions / specific commands post back! |

Ok I am having a little trouble here. I have both drives installed in the computer although when I do a df command after booting knoppmyth it doesnt see the second hard drive. If boot with Knoppix it picks up the new hard drive and shows it as mounted. When the command starts I get an error with LILO saying "duplicate volume id" but it will still boot into knoppmyth and work fine. I am also a little unsure on the exact command I need to use to mount the new hard drive to the video section. Is it : Code: mount /dev/hdb1 /myth/video
Thanks for any help |

What do you mean here "when the command starts"?Quote: I am also a little unsure on the exact command I need to use to mount the new hard drive to the video section. Is it : Yes, that looks correct (for a drive on the second IDE bus, or configured as slave on first IDE bus)
Code: mount /dev/hdb1 /myth/video Note that, if this second disk has more than one partition, then that will only mount the first partition. You may need to partition and format it first? |

The LILO error looks harmless. A Google reveals a few simple fixes, e.g. http://www.linux.net.nz/pipermail/nzlug ... 00292.html |

If it's a brand new drive you'll need to format it before you can mount it, but otherwise that command's fine. |
