Hi, I recently upgraded as stated in the subject line to keep up with both zip2it dd changes and get new features of new Myth!

I'm mostly done, except I notice that none of my old programs can play and they show as black preview boxes. Is this related to the .15.1 bugfix?

When is that going to be available to the KnoppMyth community?

If the videos aren't playing, then something else is wrong. What you looked at the backend log or start the frontend from an xterm?

Its File not found, not finding the nuv file because it is looking for channel #9039 #9039

I saw this after I installed R3, perhaps the db didn't get updated properly? I did the backup.

Either your channel id or your timezone got munged. The fact that you can't change the TZ when running from the CD means that the servers, particularly apache and mysql, are started up with the wrong TZ offset from UTC and the restore is running in that environment. Since the DB uses channel id and start time as a primary key for programs and recordings and generates the NUV filename from those and the end time it can get confused if either of those "change".

Search for messages by me on the timezone issue which is most likely your problem. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1293

For the channel issue, check that the channel id in the DB (table - mythconverg.recorded) is the same as the first chunk of the NUV filename. If not, the easiest thing to do may be to rename the files to match.

Cesman - Is there anyway to work around that TZ mess? I'm assuming it's a general Knoppix thing... Maybe by making a little ramdisk and mounting it where ever that stuff wants to write back to?

um, I think I'd rather delete each one from the menu and re-record than do that :(

Another problem I noted is that not only time-zone is not set, but the ip/dns is not setable through the instructions that say "However DO NOT install it until after configuration has started and the frontend starts for the first time." in the Auto-Upgrade section of http://hust.la/KnoppMyth/

How is this supposed to work exactly? Those instructs should be more specific. I also sent a note to whoever was soliciting help with docs, I'd love to change that around to be right and will again offer my services to do so, if I know what the right actions and steps ought to be.

If I messed up, how do I change the ip/dns settings so I don't have to use 127.0.0.1 ... what happened was that after my upgrade to V4R4 it couldn't connect to the myth-backend server because canceling the setup set the linux system to 127.0.0.1 while KnoppMyth restored the db to the old actual ip address that was set. Nothing in the instructs on Auto-Upgrade to cover that from what I saw.

If the TZ is your only problem re-running the restore manually is pretty much a "no-brainer".
