Not sure where to put this, but here goes.

I grew up in the eighties and nineties... I remember when MTV played music videos, and so now that no one does that on TV anymore, I've taken to watching on the web. I like yahoo's video service- not perfect, but I can give it a good general idea of the videos I want to watch and the service is acceptable. However, even with Firefox installed on my mythbox, all you get is a very small video window in the corner of the screen.

Does anyone have either:

1- a way to make yahoo video play full screen on my mythbox, or...

2- a good alternative.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried Democracy player (now Miro)? I don't know if there interface w/ Yahoo, but you can get a whole to Internet video programming.

Unfortunately, Miro does not support this, though it does look pretty cool. I emailed Yahoo and they say it is being worked on but gave no firm answer.

Really, the only reason I want it is that it will play random videos based on some general parameters of what I like more or less infinitely.

I miss MTV (the REAL MTV, when they played music.)

Thanks anyway.

You could use http://vixy.net/ to download you tube videos to your machine. Then pop them in with the rest of your videos and go.

I do this. The only downside, the video quality is youtube quality... It's better than nothing, especially for hard to find stuff.

Hi there.

I'm totaly with you. As a now 30 year old. I grew up on Muchmusic when it played videos, and not, well. crap.. Just as an FYI.. MTV Canada isn't even regulated to play music videos. what a load of crap. Anyways, If you grab Miro, there is a channel (podcast) called telemusicvideo or something liek that.. They have about 25 videos on there, and add a new on regularly.. They currently have videos by Postal Service, Hot Hot Heat, lots of fun.. Also there is a podcast of R3TV.. Radio 3 TV Canada. They play Canadian music, usually a video a podcast.. If your American.. Well.. uh.. Watch it anyways..
