Hi, I have been doing some digging, trying to get stereo items to play back on my PC sound card surround setup. DVDs work fine, because they are already proper surround encoded.

I discovered this has been approached in a few ways, with some .asoundrc hacking - none of which work for me (no sound comes out at all).

Then I stumbled across ticket #1104 here: http://cvs.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/1104

Has this been implemented a) in MythTV and b) in Knoppmyth? I'm unsure about how to find out if it has or not. This would be great...!

1) Check the highest SVN version included in your KnoppMyth using the KnoppMyth -> Version or the Information Center -> System Status -> Listing Status menu items. It's the number that ends with an 'M'.

2) Check the MythTV 0.20-fixes branch patch log to see if that fix has been back ported in a version earlier than the one you determined in step 1 - http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/log/branches/release-0-20-fixes
