Post subject:  Does MythTV call nvram-wakeup ?

Does the schedule recording program within MythTV call nvram-wakeup routine ? That way it would boot the system if it is down around the time it is supposed to record.

Yes, please check the mythtv archive for details. I've seen details for setting it up there.

of course that only works if you can boot your machine w/ the lan connected w/o getting blinky-blink

Seems MythTV does not support what I was looking for 'To powerup the system just before a recording if the system is off, automatically'. You need to run a script to read the schedules and run nvram-wakeup based on the decision you come to, before shutting down the system.
