First I'd like to thank all of you in here contributing to the project. I just received my PVR-250 today and it seems to work great although there are a few problems..

1)
My recordings don't show up anywhere after they are recorded. The only way I can see them is trough mythweb. What could be wrong?

2)
The output from my Geforce 256 to my monitor is far from centered! So i have to adjust it with nvtv each time I restart. Is there a way to avoid that?

3)
Finally I have a video problem mentioned in another post: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1739

Any help would be apreciated.

1) Recordings should be in the /myth/tv directory. All of those great big 1.1 and 2.2 Gb ".nuv" files... You should be able to list and view them from the "TV -> Watch Recordings" menu in the GUI. Reading the fourm would havve answered this question.

2) You need to tune you mode lines or tweak the settings on your monitor. How to do the former is too complicated to explain here. How to do the later is very much dependent on your monitor.

3) Search the forum for "play DVD". There are at least three ways to do this, all covered in exhaustive detail in various threads.

As the thrice honored Cesman would say if he weren't too polite, "Search first! Ask questions later!"

as for the offcenter tv output you can have nvtv run from command line on boot once you know what setting you need. I can't remember exactly how to do it, but I found it real easy with a google search back when I was using a gf2mx, but that's been some time now.

tjc>> I did search the forum first!

1)
Yhe thing is that the reecording aren't in the "TV -> Watch Recordings" in the gui!
Something must be wrong with my database or what?

3)
I already tried installing libdvdread (with the.sh script), but it still won't even try to read my discs. Also the ones who isn't encrypted. And my Xvid movies won't play neither. Could something be wrong with MPlayer?

yeah sounds like you got lots of problems. I never seen mythtv actually record something and it not show up in the watch recordings. I would check and repair the database. there is a post around here somewhere how to do that.

and I would open the video settings find out what the exact mplayer command you are using is and then run that from an xterm to see what kind of error messages you are getting.

Xsecrets - Maybe we need to start a FAQ thread over in the "Problems and Solutions" topic. I nominate "how do I debug DVD playback?" as the first entry! (How many times has that one been answered just this week? Is this the 2nd or 3rd time?) Or maybe "how do I search the forums effectively?" ;-)

I got the recordings to appear by changing the default rec profile to display from all programs to default to all programs again. This must be a bug

Bugs should be recorded to the mythtv mailing list. Please see the mythtv docs for more...

yeah seems like I did read about that, but I've never personally used 0.15 so I haven't hit it.

I'm sorry but I don't know how to use the mythtv mailing list. Could one of you guys mention it on the list please?

well the mythtv mailing list is just that. you send an email to the list, but if you are not a member of the list it goes somewhere to be approved, and usually never sees the light of day. then there is a searchable archive online, but you can't post from online.
