I had my TV aerial and coax cabling replaced just recently as I was not get the best signal quality through my AU$10 aerial that was 12 years old, so I had it all replaced. I had it professionally installed and ensured I got RG-6 quad shielded cabling. It was after this that I started having problems.

Whilst the guy was installing the points and so forth, I did a little bit of maintanence on my KnoppMyth box, I removed my Audigy card and decided to use the onboard AC97 Audio.

Once the cable guy was finished I plugged everything back in and that is when the problems started. One of my two Twinhan tuners cards would play a channel, but it would have lines constantly through it. Tried the other tuner and it would work OK.

Tuning to channels and the HD channels (when they worked) was excellent. So I thought I would try the latest version as I was using R5F1 and was having some minor system stability problems. I loaded up R5F27 and this only made things worse. I have since removed the problem tuner, but now the other tuner won't tune to all the channels and the channels it does pick up on a scan it won't tune to the them properly. I have tried putting the Audigy back in and disabling the onboard audio but this made no change.

I am going to try a different system in a different room as a control, but I would like to ask the community what there thoughts on my problem might be. Is it the system having too much interference? Is it the aerial is not aligned properly?

Looking forward to any thoughts and considerations that people may have.

Thanks.

Hi Girkers,

Maybe with all the improvements you are have signal over load. Tuners do have an upper limit for a signal level.

Mike,

Yeah I thought that to, so I tried the crappy fly leads I had instead of the you beaut ones the TV guy made me and it made no difference.

I will report back on how my worst of the two tuner cards goes in a separate system in a different part of the house.
