Almost there... In addition to MythTV 0.21, R 5.5 will include:
    Newer kernel!
    Support for more hardware!
    The Tweaker!
    Automated configuration of various tuners!
SVN versions of FFMPEG and MPlayer!
    Support for unencrypted HD disc!
    ZoneMinder!
    SDL MAME 0.124a!
    Latest XE emulator!
Lots of various little fixes here and there!

Much thanks to all the contributors and testers!

Now I'm really drooling :P. I'm hoping that the latest MythTV
will fix some DVD burn issues that I still get once in a while...

I see an Alpha on FTP that is later than your post. Hope things
aren't biting you too bad.

Cliff

Only if you've been bad. ;-)

Tweaker is human's improved auto-configuration helper. It looks at your hardware and picks the best supported settings for a number of things. This helps minimize the amount of manual setup you need to do for things like capture cards and video cards.

This means that we'll have support for storage groups, right? Will setting them up be supported by the installer, or is this something we're going to have to do manually. Please forgive my naivete if this is a stupid question...

See http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Storage_Groups

I don't see a way to have the installer configure Storage Groups for you, as each setup is unique...

There is a default setup for storage groups of /myth/tv where most existing KM systems already keep their recordings. Adding more locations is easy.

All I can say is wahoo can't wait. An I agree with the concept of a home entertainment appliance NOT a PC.

I wrote a wiki article:

I still need to test recording a bit but so far it looks promising.
