| Post subject: | LVM gone toast - volume group wont mount |
I was prepping to upgrade last night and I tried to add a hard drive to LVM via webmin hosed my LVM and made all my data disappear. Anyone have any clues how I can get it back? I have an unknown device currently listed in the physical volumes that prehaps is causing a major fail in mounting the VG? Is it possible to recover remaining portions of a toasted LVM? I was following the first scenario instructions posted by TJC here http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.p ... ight=drive Well anyway, when I told it to install all my paths said it was going to do this on /dev/sdc and it actually did it on /dev/sda /dev/sda was the first drive in my lvm so now I have a nicely formatted Knoppmyth drive with R5.5 but it has toasted my LVM and most likely a large portion of my recordings.
