| Post subject: | Diskless frontend Server just stopped |
I had a nice diskless frontend working with no problems for a while now. Last weekend I added a drive to my backend and created a storage group (/myth2). Since then my diskless frontend gives me a tftp open timeout error. I checked many logs but couldnt find anything about anything called tftp. Any suggestions on what to look for? |

Please don't repost the same questions repeatedly. http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=116005 Is the old /myth directory still there? If not that may be your problem. Debugging 101, the first question is _always_ "What changed?" The second question is usually, "No, really, what changed?" Sometimes the third question is "Even if you don't think it's relevant, what changed?" The tftp daemon is used for providing the boot image to diskless devices (diskless FEs and some capture devices). If you're getting an error you either (re)moved that image, changed the permissions on it so that tftpd could read it, or possibly changed the system's IP address so that the client couldn't reach it. |

I noticed this on a fresh install. I haven't had a chance to see why, yet. But I got it to work again with a 'inetd' as root. Hope that helps |

Sorry tjc. I want trying to duplicate my post. I just realized that I had posted it to the wrong area of forum and thought to put it in the right place. After trying several "ideas" I really hosed everything and did a fresh reinstall. |
