I just moved from Mythbuntu to Knoppmyth R5.5... everything works fine except that for some reason with no keyboard or remote connected I am moving through my menus... with just my keyboard I can move around but the menu is jumping around with no input from the keyboard. With my remote it's the same it either moves around on it's own or moves through the menus 2 at a time... I have a ps/2 keyboard and MCE usb remote. Dunno where to begin to look to find the problem... Didn't have that issue with myhbuntu so I'm thinking it might be a configuration issue... I don't like mythbuntu because it seems too bloated to me... any help would be appreciated...

Does the jumping around stop when you cover up whatever IR receivers
you have (keyboard, LIRC, etc).

Find out which one to cover up to get the problem to go away.

Then find out what is sending the signal by moving around a small cover
a short distance away from that receiver.

Do you have a MCE keyboard?

Can you post the code below with your USB receiver plunged in.

To narrow the playing field what I would do is unplug the MCE USB receiver and reboot and then see if your PS2 keyboard functions correctly. If Lirc has not been changed the MCE module will not load at boot when it is unplugged. Post back your results.

I mean even when my keyboard and IR receiver are not connected the computer moves on it's own... I also just realized that my IR receiver LED blinks almost every 5 seconds exactly... I have checked if there are any other devices probably sending signals but there are none... I installed mythbuntu on the same machine without physically moving anything just to see and everything works fine... and there is no constant blinking...

I'm still at work so I can't post the lsusb results but I do know that I have the SMK Manufacturing receiver...
