Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me fix my remote. I'm not great with linux, but I had been running knoppmyth for 2 years before my machine died. I rebuilt a new machine and everything works fine, except that nothing happens when I use the remote.

My machine is:

ECS A780GM-A AMD780G Socket AM2
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Socket AM2
160 GB SATA
2 gb ddr2
hauppauge 350
hauppauge 150

I have a silver remote and have tried all the default hauppauge lircd.config files, but none seem to work.

Is there something not working because of the 2 cards?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You didn't say if you installed a different version after the rebuild - Did you check tjc's Hints posting for your KM version to see if there are any known issues?

Assuming you are using a PVR-x50 IR receiver, they are notorious for not seating properly - Double-check that the receiver is plugged all the way into the receptacle...

After checking the above, run /usr/local/bin/lirc-reconfig.sh as root and select the appropriate remote. This should configure the system for you.

Thanks for the reply.

I should have mentioned that I installed 5.5. I ran /usr/local/bin/lirc-reconfig.sh several times and tried every hauppauge remote with no success.

I'll try checking the receiver again. I assumed that since the IR blaster lit up that it is properly connected. (I should mention that I'm not trying to get the IR blaster working, but that the receiver came with one).
