ohh man i just need to breath...ok...im ok now.. I have been trying to get tv working for 3 days now. And the crap part is i have done this several times no problem and now bang its not working. I finaly did a fresh install of knoppmyth thinking some of my other playing had messed something up.
NO GO....
Heres what it is doing... WHen i click watch tv it goes to a green screen, channel 3 (which on my cable is homeshopping network) weird. but finaly i clicked up a channel and it goes to 4 discovery. and it works ..for about 5 or so seconds and freezes (i can escape out of it though). The only thing i can figure after it still doing it on a virgin install is that i did swap out from a via kt400 mobo to a kt6delta. But install goes fine.. it playes music movies and all, just not TV. Here is a snipit of my mythbackend log.

I did notice something else when going through mysql's logs... remeber this from my previous post?

Quote:
Unable to connect to database!
Driver error was [1/-1]:
QMYSQL3: Unable to connect

Unknown database 'mythconverg'

look at my sql log...

040710 09:32:20 mysqld ended

040710 09:32:21 Error at /etc/init.d/mysql\n/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed

error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)'

040710 09:32:21 mysqld started
Warning: Ignoring user change to 'mysql' because the user was set to 'mysql' earlier on the command line
/usr/sbin/mysqld: ready for connections.
Version: '4.0.13-log' socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' port: 0

They might be related.. but how could switching out a mobo cause sql to fail??

either your database doesn't exist or the passwords are not matching up.

Im not sure whats going on with the database..Ill look into it and check back.. but the TV problem is solved... only took 20+ hours... I went into bios and loaded failsafe defaults.... also (and i think more importantly) i DISABLED the OB sound card I think the two were not getting along.. and i forgot to disable it when i put the system together.. :( Im not sure if it was the card or some setting..but its fixed.. ill play more later to narrow it down and report back.. now its time to lay back and watch tv for a half hour..before bed

Well i narrowed it down alittle further, It has nothing to do with not disabling the OB sound. It works fine with Fail Safe defaults loaded and the OB sound endabled. But if I load Proformance defaults (even with OB sound off) TV wont work it freezes after 5 sec ish. Porformance turns on allot of options so im not sure ill ever go one at a time through all the options and reboot (repeat sequence). So this turned out that this shoulda been in installation after all.. MY mobo is a MSI KT6V. Wish i woulda stuck with my MSI kt400. Ohh well thanks all :)
