Well I managed to listen to the full interview, and It's excited me more about this release. I've been a long time Debian/Ubuntu user (Debian for Servers/Ubuntu for Desktops) and It did concern me that there was a decision to move away, but after listening to what Cecil had to say about the decision, it has really put me at ease.

My Temporary box I built 2 years ago is going from:
Intel P4 2.4C
Asus P4P800E Deluxe
1GB DDR400
nVidia 6600GT
Dvico HDTV+
120GB WD for Swap /boot & /
2x 250GB Maxtor with LVM & XFS for /myth
28" Viewsonic LCD

To:
Intel P4 3.06
Zalman Silent Cooler
Intel Board (Can't remember, but it lived most of it's life in a 21 degree celsius server room and none of the caps are bulging like the other board)
2GB DDR400
nVidia 6600GT
Dvico HDTV+ and Dvico Dual 4
200GB WD for Swap /boot & /
2x 500GB Maxtor with LVM & XFS for /myth
Silverstone LC17-B
Silent PSU
Auzentech Explosion 7.1 Cinema (optical out for my surround receiver)
28" Viewsonic LCD

Bought the new case and psu already, just waiting on the Extra Tuner + Sound Card. But nothing to stop from playing with LinHES as soon as the Official release is available as the rest of the parts are just things I had collected or retired from other systems.

BRING ON R6!! :D

After talking to Cecil on TLLTS I have to say I'm very excited about LinHES R6. I've used Mythbuntu for the last 18 months or so. For the most part it's been pretty solid but the last upgrade I did (7.10 to 8.04) was a major mess and I had to do a clean install. Running Myth on Arch could be amazing and I'm very interested in it. I just ordered some new parts for my Myth box (all HD transition):
Bigger hard drive (1 TB)
4 gig of memory (for $26)
VDPAU capable video card
and yes a HD-PVR

Can't wait to put it all together.

Hi,

I listened the interview and i m really excited about the upcoming release. I m a happy Knoppmyth user since the first R5 version so R6 is very welcome. Each R5 release have bring some great fonctionnality.

I think this new release will bring the tools for easy solution for the Internet media like Hulu and other with the package option.

I hope the release will be ready at the same time it will be presented at the scale expo. Anyway i will wait the time it will take to be released but i m ready to jump in the next version.

Thanks Cecil and the tester for your great work.
Bob
