OK, now I'm impatient ...

How much longer must I wait?

Dude, this is one of those questions you should never ask. The forum is rich with folks doing it, and pissing off people. Listen to Linux Tech Show interview. I could be mistaken, but I thought I heard Cecil say that it would get released at SCALE 7x.

Well if my phone provider has pulled their finger out, I may just have my internets back today!! But that's a rant for Off-topic..

I've pre-built my new box ready for R6! More Ram, More HDD, More Speed... and for the fun of it, more quite :P

From first impressions, it has a high WAF, but that could be the prettier case

I am not trying to steal thunder just observing it is out there. I am sure Cecil would prefer we not flood him all at once though so hold off until the mirrors come up if you can so those who host it for us can get their copy.

But I am REALLY EXCITED!!! I have been waiting this month before bringing my box back up because I knew this was coming. I guess I know what I am doing the rest of the night instead of sleeping.

Well i'd be happy to host a mirror, basically have .5 of Terabyte data allowance, of which I use about 500MB per month. 100Mbit link and if you are in the states it's mighty quick. (I can download stuff to it over there at 20 megabytes/s!!)

I'm not allowed to host torrents though :( But at $15 a month I can't complain!

Looks like the dates on the server are (or were) off by about a year since the SW upgrade.

Haven't got any bandwidth sharing setup currently, so not sure how well it will go with multiple people, but it has got a nice fat link as far as I know.

Post subject:  Thanks again

Cecil and all of the other less know people who have slaved on this for unknown months (or years) I would like to thank you for your hard work and time once again.

I am installing R6 right now and since I have been holding out for a month nobody is going to notice another week if it doesn't go well however I have very high confidence in LinHES as I have had in all of the other releases.

THANKS AGAIN

Jeff

Yes I have been hanging out for this release! Thankyou to the Team that made it happen and to Cecil for all his hard work and dedication!

On another note, I'm spewing I haven't got the net at home currently, would be interesting to see what my monitoring would say about the traffic stats. Oh well I'll just have to watch the firewall stats.

I had it up & running within an hour (including download & burn time...) It sets up itself fast with minimal questions and mine was running 'out of the box' .... :D

Whoa!

I just went through the initial config from my recliner using my streamzap remote! It is loading up right now. My wife will be happy that she won't have to have a keyboard sitting on top of my left speaker anymore!!!

I knew this was going to be really awesome.

Specs currently standalone
P4 2.6 HT
1 gig ram
Intel 865 chipset in an HP
750 gig Seagate PATA
geforce 6200 AGP with DVI to HDMI into Panasonic 42 Plasma 1080P
Onboard sound for now
two Avermedia M179 tuners.
Comcast cable SD only
(Alternate Directv with Com to USB converters controlling the twin boxes starting again next month due to recent move. Svid)
Streamzap remote

In other words I have the most default box I could come up with since it is an appliance used by the whole family.
