Whenever I su to root or mythtv, as soon as I try to type a command something immediate types exit and kicks me out of the account. It's really annoying. I'm not sure if it's a security feature, but I'd like to disable it.

I've only SSH'ed to mine though as I am having issues getting to a local terminal.

It happens to me both from a local login, as well as a remote SSH login.

Try pressing enter immediately after the su (so that it's the first command after the su).

Please report back if this worked or not. I have seen this problem a few times and that always seems to make it work.

Try sudo -i

also log in ssh with a user account, not root or mythtv
