I made a change to the display settings and now I'm receiving that message upon boot and the frontend won't start. The problem is that I can't get back into the frontend to change the display setting back.

How do I get out of this jam?

I didn't manage to solve it... it was quicker to do a clean install .... (I started out wit an upgrade from 5.5....)

Most likely a bad xorg.conf file. Sadly the ones from R5.5 don't seem to work for various reasons. I'm still trying to figure out how to reliably get a good one.
