Just wondering...

Code:
/etc/rc.d/mythbackend restart

seems to work. But it doesn't seem to work for me if I <Ctr> +3 (or is it 2?) to stop the backend.

ive been informed previously to use
Code:
sv stop mythbackend

or
Code:
sv mythbackend stop

cant remember the syntax... but sv is definately the way to stop a service, and keep it stopped.

alt+2 to stop it, alt+1 to start, alt+3 to restart.

Mike

P.S. From memory only. If you cat /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/keys you'll have all the shortcuts

Thanks all. So if I alt +2 to stop, would /etc/rc.d/mythbackend restart or sv mythbackend start restart the backend from the command line?

I'm working on a script, and can't seem to restart from command line after an alt+2

Use the sv commands the scripts in /etc/rc.d will get you into trouble.
