Okay. I am having the same problem now? The eth0 was working.

I was adding a line to /etc/runit/1.local to start up a vncserver at boot time. After a reboot, my network went away..... *sigh* Of course, I reverted the 1.local to its original state. I tried all the remedies on this page. Still no luck.

You try this?

Yup. Unfortunately no luck. In fact, I had that problem when I upgraded a few days ago. Today, the solution does not help. I did a diff between ipv4route and ipv4route.pacsave and also between ipv4address and ipv4address.pacsave. No differences.

When I get more time, I am going to try and test the ethernet device from the installer CD. However, I can not believe my ethernet device went dead. The motherboard is only two months old.

I'll play around with this more on the weekend..... Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion. As it turns, my network connection mysteriously fixed itself. I came home from work to find that I had brief power failure. When my box rebooted, the network connection as working. I doubt it was the power cycle that fixed the problem as I had already tried that the previous day. Glad to have it working. Dislike the mystery.

Okay, I seem to be having this problem.

After reboot, I need to do a dhcpcd eth0 to get eth0 up again. It seems that the system has set up eth1 by default.

I tried running systemconfig.py -m network, but that did not help. I have already restored the pacsave files.

Is there something else I am missing?

Thanks,

Allen
