Hi, I was looking at using the new R6, but had a question concerning Mythvideo. The system I would be using is an ASUS mobo, AMD 4850e chip with an Nvidia 9500GT. I tried Mythbuntu with the VDPAU patches and it worked fairly well, but the Mythvideo always gave me issues. I have a couple of DVDs that I copied to the videos directory, not modified, the entire DVD structure. 1. On Mythbuntu, the playback was OK, but if I fast forwarded or skipped to the next chapter, the playback would speed up for a few seconds and then play normal. Also, at some points during the playback, it would skip (hard to describe). I eventually turned to mplayer for the DVD playback (which had no issues), but not really what I wanted. 2. For some reason the bookmarking didn't work either with DVD's. I had it configured correctly (or so I thought), yet when I would stop a DVD, it wouldn't start where I left off. Any issues like the above with R6? I see it isn't that difficult to get VDPAU working! Thanks for any help you can give. |

I'm not sure what program you were using to play the dvd files, maybe internal myth player. I use xine for iso files and dvd's and have no problems. xine, mplayer and the internal myth player all install with R6. It's just a matter of choosing which one you want to use in the setup. |

I've seen no issues w/ issue 1 or 2 with LinHES. While there is a mythtv w/ VDPAU backport for LinHES, commercial flagging with it doesn't work. |
