I had been trying to install FF, but I'm not sure if that's related or not, I think this happened a little before that.

In any event, while watching videos mythfrontend keeps crashing. If I tail messages this is what I get
Code:
Aug 28 19:17:21 mythtvslave kernel: mythfrontend[8777]: segfault at a8973a80 eip b713897c esp aaef3c84 error 4
Aug 28 19:27:25 mythtvslave -- MARK --

Aug 28 21:32:15 mythtvslave kernel: mythfrontend[9070]: segfault at aa0e7020 eip b720c160 esp a9df2c84 error 4

Also, if I start mythfrontend from a console on the box, the last coupe lines are "Audio buffer overflow, audo data lost!" and then "Segmentation fault"

I just don't know what, if any log this is in otherwise I'd post a more accurate copy.

Please help, as I can't get through a single video without it crashing.

Which decoder are you using for playback? In particular, check the log files to see which one it's picking for the problem recordings. You may need to run the FE with some extra debugging turned on to get this info.

The front end log file. /var/log/mythtv/mythfrontend.log

Even at the default debug level it's plenty chatty and generally tells you which codec and which options it is using for playback.
