After seeing some cool themes on http://www.bootsplash.de I tried switching the KnoppMyth bootsplash theme that came with R4V5 with a new one. I managed to replace the image, but for some reason the progress bar doesn't work with the new theme (even though the theme supports it). Switching back to the KnoppMyth theme shows me a progress bar.

Googling learnt me that the progress bar is initiated from the /etc/init.d/rc and /etc/init.d/rcS scripts which are started from /etc/inittab. The KnoppMyth theme proves this is working fine. Like the config file for the KnoppMyth theme the config file for the new theme has the following line:



I'm stumped. The only difference in themes (apart from the images shown) is the resolution. The KnoppMyth theme uses 800x600 (VGA=788) and the themes I tried use 1024x768 (VGA=791).

I tried the suggestion in the last post of this topic:

Any clues?
