Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone had seen this problem before - my box, running the R5v4 install, has taken to deleting overnight all recorded programs from the previous day. It does not appear to be autoexpire as I've disabled that everywhere that I can but it happens consistently and it's kind of frustrating. I'm having some problems with it in that I can't seem to find any events in the log that indicate that it is happening. I am therefore wondering if it may have anything to do w/ the mythfilldatatabase call (mine runs very early morning).

Any thoughts on what I should check?

Thanks,
Donald

It might be that you're not actually having your programs deleted, but rather that the database entries aren't being made or retained which correspond to your recordings. Take a look in /myth/tv and see if there aren't a bunch of .nuv files in there. If there are, this indicates a database problem.

Do you ever see any listings in the "recorded programs" listing?

On another note, maybe your problem is that you're using a product From The Future! We're not up to R5 yet. (I assume you're actually using R4V5.)

RE: version number - yeah, yeah, I'm sick ... sue me for the transposition :)

I'll take a look but I've already check and it does look like a physical deletion - I'm kinda stumped by it but I'll check the db as you suggest.

Are you low on disk space?

no, I never even manage to go over about 10% filled ... that's how I first noticed it, doing a df on my main drive after three days and seeing a very low percent used.

also you can setup myth to delete old recordings so that it only keeps x number of a particular show, so you may want to check those settings and make sure you don't have it autoexpiring.

is it possible that you've got it set to autoexpire and keep only the last 'n' shows, and you've left 'n' set to zero?
