hmm... been searching the forum but haven't found anything that specifically answers my question: we don't get HBO or MAX and I'd like to edit these out of my channel listing. How is this best accomplished?

The answer for those also wondering:

Step 1.
edit ~mythtv/.mythtv/Cable.xmltv
(Cable in the above is whatever you named your provider)

Step 2.
Simply comment out using # the channels you're not interested in.

Step 3.
run mythfilldatabase
