Post subject:  PVR-350 Installation

I am looking for suggestions on what route is going to be best for installing MythTV with a PVR-350. I really like KnoppMyth as it is easy to install with a minimum of hassle. Is it relatively easy to upgrade MythTV to .13 and upgrade the IVTV drivers after installing R4? I assume R5 is going to have better support for the TV out on the 350 since the developers received some 350s from Hauppauge, please correct me if I am wrong. I see there is an install guide from Jarod using the Fedora core but Fedora seems like a lot of overhead and stuff will be installed that I don't need or will never use. I don't mind putting in the time to get this running correctly, I just don't want to start down a path that may not be the best. Thanks for your suggestions!

Yes, Dale and I will try our best to get TV out working for the PVR-350 w/ R5. This is however dependant on the IVTV drivers. Unfornately due to various hardware configurations(MB, etc) getting the 350 working w/ TV out is no guarantee.

Am I to understand the TV out on the PVR-350 will not work using KnoppMyth Revision 4?

Thanks for the response. What guidance is there to getting a PVR-350 working w/ R4? I see the changelog mentions that it "Added PVR-x50 support!" in R4 as of "11-3-03". I'm confused.

well recording should work easily, it's just the tv-out that is a pain. there are numerous forum posts about it that are very long so I'll just make a suggestion to search the forums for it.
