Hi, all! I just learned about Frappr, a site that uses Google Maps to show where members of different groups are in the world. I set up a KnoppMyth Community group, so that people who want to can put themselves on the map. Check it out: http://www.frappr.com/knoppmythcommunity

Use your real name, your forum name, or make something up :) It'd be cool to see where people are contributing to and using KnoppMyth.

:) The only data you give is name, zipcode, and comment. Your zipcode will not likely let people find you if you don't enter your full name or real name.

that's pretty cool, im in.

Google maps are sweet, I love scrolling the sat. images. If you've never used google maps...enter your address, zoom in, and select 'satalite'. you can also drag your mouse in the map to move it around...way cool!

I noticed a few within maybe 20 miles of me. Is there such a thing as a KUG?

Looks like I am the most remote in the Contiguous U.S. and look to be the only user in all of Eastern Oregon. Basically in the Center of a 250 mile by 300 mile box.

Although there is one user listed in Montana that may have me beat. But I think that is closer to a major highway..

Not that I am bragging. If I could put a Big antenna on the Mountain, I could pull some Broadcast stations...

Has anyone else checked this out lately? I noticed that my pin has disappeared from the map. I still see my user name under the members section, but it's not editable. Are they requiring a login to appear on maps now?

I'm the map admin, but I haven't seen it in a while either because there are no 64-bit ports of the Flash or Java plugins. I'll check it out later on a 32-bit distro.
