My current partition table is
1st HDD
C: XP System 20gb
D: XP Programs 48.9gb
E: Blank 23.9gb (used to be backup but I put it on Dvd) I want Linux on this.
F: Blank 988mb (used to be i386 for xp)

2nd HDD

Will ntfs work in linux?

no ntfs will not work in linux (yes I know read only, but not what he wants) you should be able to put linux on that partition, but for knoppmyth you would have to use the manual install, and I haven't done that before it may still want to clear the drives, so wait for someone else to respond about that.

Post subject:  auto install

Just remember if your doing an "auto install" the drive your installing to MUST be the MASTER on the PRIMARY channel.

It must remain the MASTER on the PRIMARY channel as well. XP will have no problem living on as a slave on the secondary.
