| Post subject: | Can't play music on remote frontend |
I'm trying to use a split frontend backend set up. Video works but when I pull up the music I can see the list of files, just nothing happens when I try to play. Any ideas on things to check? |

I'm not sure (not at home to look at this) but I think you have to configure mythmusic on the frontend and mount the remote drive with the music on the frontend. I'm pretty sure you have to do that with mythvideo anyway. I find it quite frustrating and am looking forward to thor's mfd release to deal with music and hopefully eventually video sharing among myth boxes. |

So I'm assuming that's an NFS mount of the backend drive onto the frontend filesystem? |

In order to play music or videos from a remote backend you need file sharing be it NFS or CIFS(SMB). |
