If there is nothing pluged into you second comm port try switching the blaster to it. You don't need to restart anything.. just plug it in and try it. what is the output from: Code: ps x|grep blaster
what are things set at in: /etc/irblaster/hardware.conf |

mythtv@mythtv:~$ ps x | grep blaster 5087 ttyp1 S+ 0:00 grep blaster Hardware.conf is com2 I have had the blaster working through many versions always on com 2. I don't have an external com 1 to even try. Lirc is not working on the recieve end either. Craig |

sorry should have do a "ps uaxw|grep blaster" the x alone would have worked if you were root.. |

Try "ps ax | grep blaster" . It should show you a running instance of irblasterd. If it doesn't, then for some reason, the it did not start, or it died. You need to find out why. Try running (as root) /etc/init.d/irblaster start and see if you get any error messages. |

/etc/init.d/irblaster start ################################################# ## UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHICH DEVICE lirc_serial ## ## is using. ## ################################################## Ok how do we help it determine the serial port? Craig |

add the serial port to your hardware.conf by hand. ============== # /etc/irblaster/hardware.conf # # Author: Greg Frost # The COM Port used by the IRBlaster. Set it to "COM1" "COM2" or "". IRBLASTER_SERIAL_PORT="COM1" # Set this to the lirc device that will be used by lirc_serial. In my case # it is /dev/lirc. I have a USB remote, so my remote does not use the # /dev/lirc device, so it is used by lirc_serial for my ir blaster. If you # have a remote that uses /dev/lirc, the blaster may user /dev/lirc1. Not # sure. IRBLASTER_DEVICE="/dev/lirc1" |

Try running this from the command line (yours may be /dev/irblasterd instead of /dev/irblaster) Code: /usr/sbin/irblasterd --driver=default --device=/dev/lirc1 --pidfile=/var/run/irblasterd.pid --output=/dev/irblaster /etc/irblaster/irblasterd.conf
killall off the running irblasterd first though.. |
