knoppmyth R4V2 config. everything had been going ok for a week or so, i.e. guide data was downloaded then inserted daily. and, scheduling works correctly, recording works correctly, etc., i'm loving mythtv. but yesterday i see this message on the mythweb status page: Last mythfilldatabase run started on 2004-03-09 04:25 and ended on 2004-03-09 04:48. mythfilldatabase ran, but did not insert any new data into the Guide. This can indicate a potential xmltv failure. There's guide data until 2004-03-21 04:21 (12 days). in an attempt to solve the problem, i did an # apt-get update ; apt-get install xmltv but problem persists today. any ideas? furthermore, isn't it strange that myth thinks it has 12 days of guide data? i was under the impression that 9 days was the maximum guide data span. thanks jim |

So the channel lineup in your area has changed...I suggest running mythtv-setup and answering yes to deleting the program guide and reconfigure. Once complete run the above cron job again. |

thanks -- quick question... i run my mythtv box headless: no monitor, no mouse, no keyboard. is there a way i can reconfigure the program guide via ssh? or what do you think my best approach is? can export the X-display and run mythtv-setup from a ssh session? thanks for any tips, this is the first time i've had to do this w/o a monitor att'd. jim |

You can ssh in and run setup if you have an X server setup on the SSH client and have X11 forwarding on. Linux box as ssh client is pretty straight forward. Free solutions for windows is using cygwin unix emulator. But that might be more hassle than unhooking your box from the tv and plugging in keyborard mouse and monitor if you aren't familiar with this. |
