Worked great out of the box! Replaced a dead Tivo box.

System Specs:

Video type: SDTV
Type of system: back-end
Noise level: I can tell it's on until I play some media

CASE: HP Vectra VL VLi8 DT
PSU: Stock HP (Unknown Wattage)
MOTHERBOARD: Intel 440ZX HP proprietary
CPU: PIII 650 Coppermine Slot 1
RAM: 384 MB PC100
CPU HEATSINK: Stock
NORTHBRIDGE HEATSINK: Stock
CD/DVD-RW: CD-ROM Drive
HDD: 300 GB Western Digital EIDE
GRAPHICS CARD: Integrated Matrox Millennium G200 AGP 4MB Ram
SOUNDCARD: Integrated CrystalClear CS4297 Audio Codec ‘97
TUNER CARD: Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-500 MCE (Phillips Tuners)
REMOTE CONTROL: None
CABLE SERVICE: Comcast Basic Cable (US-Cable)

Only trick I had to do with the hardware is use the Western Digital Hard drive setup utility to override the BIOS to use a hard drive larder than 60 GB.

So by trick, you used an overlay? Thats really handy to know, I was kinda wondering how linux would work with drives using overlays. Did you install the boot loader to the MBR or Partition (done a few linux installs this week, can't remember if knoppmyth gave the option or not....)

Nothing really special. I used the Western Digital utility to create a hidden partition to hold a sort of software bios override. I just used the auto installation option in Knoppmyth.

I upgraded R5C7 to R5D1 last night without a hitch. I followed the directions here:

Thanks to Cecil, Dale, and everyone else involved with Knoppmyth!
