I finally made it to tier one! :)

P4 3.0ghz + ASUS mb
nVidia fx5200
DLink D520(?) 802.11g
Two DVICO fusionHDTV DVB-T lite tuner cards
MCE remote
Dual Layer DVD (LG i think?)
Samsung plasma via DVI

Setup the wifi without a problem. And this time did the remote correctly as well. Thats a first! ;)

Only problems i hit were:

-the dreaded 'small font' problem. Only a second to add a DisplaySize setting.

-changing the X conf to use a more natural resolution to my screen.

-i tried adding a second tuner card with this install and could not get it to work. I had to delete all the capture cards, channels and then re-add them to get things to function.

-replace the version of tv_grab_au that comes with knoppmyth because it's kinda ancient. Most people i know are using the immir script (http://www.immir.com/tv_grab_au). It's a web scraper, so i don't know if there are distribution issues for it.

All in all a very satisfactory experience - good work!

I'm seeing a lot of crashes with the frontend (probably 5 last evening). Time to program a remote button to automatically restart it........

This likely means that you installed the cards such that the new one became /dev/video0 or in your case /dev/dvb/adapter0/. If you want the old card to retain it's priority (possibly because it's a better card) swapping the slots that they're installed in will usually do the trick. Otherwise dropping and re-adding them like you did is the ticket.

As far as I'm aware, they is... If you can provide to me other wise, I'd be happy to include it.

Sadly, yes there are - by the letter of the coyright laws it is illegal.

I was thinking of getting the ICEtv grabber in there (it is similar to the US DataDirect grabber in that it needs an account), but there is now pending legal action against that company.

The "ancient" one that is in there is, as far as I know, legal, because its source doesn't contain any programme descriptions, and thus no artistic content. But who knows - someone may litigate against them any day, too.
