Post subject:  Pentium D930, Asus P5P800-SE, R5A30.2

Processor: Pentium D930, rev B1 (3ghz, dual core, no hyper threading.)
CPU cooler: Stock Intel HSF.
Mobo: Asus P5P800-SE
Memory: 1GB of PC-3200 corsair memory.
Video: E-GEFORCE 6200, 128MB memory, using VGA out. Card also supports DVI & S-Video.
Case: Antec Overture II
SDEF Capture: Hauppuage PVR-250
HDEF Capture: Motorola dct-6200 via firewire
Output device: Samsung DLP 50" TV driven at 1280x720
Nvida driver version: 8756

Some notes:

1. I am currently using XVMC for playback as that gives me the smoothest result. CPU utilization while watching 1080i recordings deinterlaced with bob2x and rescaled to 720P is 15% - 16%. (My HDTV's native resolution is 720p)

2. Asus mobo automatically throttles the fan to 1850 RPM as long as temp of CPU stays "reasonable". At 1850 RPM the stock intel CPU fan is virtually silent. If you force it to run at full speed it makes a lot of noise, but it never seems to need to run any faster than the 1850RPM "silent mode" to maintain safe temps. Idles at 23C - 26C; peaks at 43.5C under full load (both cores 100% uutilized).

3. mbmon does not support this mobo but lm-sensors does if you update using the instructions at http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... nsorsHowTo
